oh jeez, i've been crazy busy doing my portfolio and applying to all these colleges.. a lot of the workload has been taken off though, since i've completed all of my application requirements to FIT, which is my number one choice right now. now i have to play the waiting game till march.
right now, i'm doing another portfolio for pratt, parsons, etc.. i've got 3 more pieces to make and then my parsons challenge. it's such a pain having to make two different portfolios! well here's one of the fashion sketches i've done, i've been neglecting blogger so much lately and i probably will be until February! so i'll say it now- happy holidays and happy new years!

ANSWER, quite surprising- i never would've guessed!

the ad campaigns this season has been a bit of a lackluster to be honest. but the new alexander mcqueen ads takes the spotlight- they're stunning! i esp love the first one, the dark eerie background with the black bird's nest and the red hair tangled around it is gorgeous.

so, who's going to don the lace this fall? even if i wanted to give it a go, i probably wouldn't be able to find any decent lace around where i live. but, i am giving the lace leggings a serious thought. wasn't so fond of them back when karl lagerfeld did them for his spring collection, but this girl below me looks so chic with them, it's hard to resist.

looking through the fall collections, ive spotted two styles of hats that i really like this season- it's inspired me enough that i'm actually going to bother getting a hat, and i never wear hats. and ive also realized- the more i look at the dolce&gabbana collection, the more i love.

pardon me for the lack of posts, im still surprised that people bother to visit my blog! have been quite busy, just got back from vacation and going off to FIT this sunday! anyone else going?

couture week has already begun and it's quite exciting to see all the models back on the runways strutting the designer's latest creations. my favorite of the day would have to be dior, though armani comes close. galliano certainly toned down for this show- notice the makeup! dior's new look, 50s silhouette has always been a favorite of mine and the draping on the clothes were magnificent. the highlights from the shows today for me were..

tomorrow will be quite a day.. chanel, lacroix and givenchy are scheduled to show!

i haven't posted or commented in so long- i feel so guilty! two weeks of school left- and i will be able to post regularly hopefully. i hope everyone's been well and enjoyed the resort collections, dior and chanel were quite nice. ( i enjoyed chanel a bit more though :p) oh but the constume gala was just disappointing! some of the dresses i saw.. just repulsive. i just got my W magazine today, and the editorials are just getting better by the issues! the setting is gorgeous, the models look gorgeous and even the marc jacobs headband look gorgeous. these sculptural pieces have me stunned- especially the balenciaga dress & shoes, thank you nicolas ghesquière! are these the shapes of things to come? i sure hope so.

issey miyake, yohji yamamoto and rei kawakubo lovers- you might just be a bit interested in this video. no sorry, it is not an interview of all three designers (though i wish!) i just came across this and thought i'd share- it's an interview of mary baskett, who is a collector of avante grande japanese fashion and she basically talks about what these people are doing or have done to change the fashion world and what it is that she finds so unique about their designs. She had an exhibition called where would you wear that? at the cincinnati art museum of her personal collection last year, but i missed it! i'm hitting myself on the head right now for missing such a thing. video is brief, but i enjoyed it. would you ever wear such pieces when stepping out your door?

yohji post i did a while back, actually about a year ago! read if interested:
my latest designer obsession. a lot of the times i find his designs to be mystic, sexy and 'quiet', whatever that may mean. people have refered to him as just more than a fashion designer, he is a poet who brings his work of art onto the runway. his designs are not exactly the glamourous type, rarely seen on the red carpet or any other social event, you may even say that his work represents the exact opposite. one thing i love the most about him is his uniqueness that sets him so far apart from the others. i read an interview of him in visionaries and i was immediately intrigued. 'like a pendulum, real clothes and costume, yesterday and today. With my two hands, I have mixed the ridiculousness and absurdity of costume and the boringness of real clothes, like creating the salad dressing for nouvelle cuisune.' i'm not quite sure what he even means by that, but here's a segment of the interview that may be more understanding, 'where i was born,' yamamoto once told me, speaking so quietly that i had to strain to hear him, 'there were very many prostitutes. And they were wearing high heels and strong lipstick. And really, I was afraid. I was scared. Because they looked very, very wild. Very, very wild and scary. Not natural. And after I became a designer, i still have the same reaction to high heels and strong lipstick. I get very scared.' i guess that's one of the reasons why he tends to use flats and very mute makeup on the runways.

paulo melim andersson got the boot from chloé as their creative director.. suprised or not? his latest fall collection was a bit disappointing for me (but not as disappointing as prada or miumiu!!), but he did bring something new, a bit different (..and a bit marni) to the house. i'm guessing the house wants something more phoebe philo, seeing that andersson's replacement hannah macgibbon was part of philo's design team. i still loved his debut collection though.. did you like andersson's collections for chloé or no?

just look at that amazing tailoring

let's not leave out another fantastic collection, yohji yamamoto. both designers showed some fantastic leathers.

also some nice color mixes i spotted;

the mustard, cream silver and pale blue would layer together nicely perhaps for a scarf, the blue top with green skirt looks fantastic, the last two peach tops are just to die for.

the gray tweed from yamamoto looks so nice paired off with a black wide leg and of course some black flats.

hah, you can probably see why i had to post this one, but the jackets looks very beautiful with the bags.

btw- did anyone hate the V&R show? it was just the first few pieces for me.

this collection is very.. marni? suprising colors and bold accessories, pleats and details with just the right amount of volume. i'm drooling over that shirt with the nice sequined shoulder pads. it's a typical marni collection, but not as dissapointing as prada.. which just gets me more excited for miu miu and chloe. but i can't help myself but to love everything marni produces, even though i do admit the collections are very similar often- still i just had a minature panic attack when style.com posted marni's show (i'm a loser). consuelo has consistency in her collections, an established style and look for the brand, is that a good thing? i suppose it is for the market, since you've established a good set of customers, i'd probably be a marni slave if i did have the $$. the collections are pretty predictable, unlike say balenciaga and prada. still, there's no doubt that the marni girl is very experimental. do these predictable, consistent collections bore you?

gucci's collection was a bit of a suprise for me, but i lovee it. i'm just lusting after those wonderful jackets. though too much fringe sometimes turn me off. remember andre leon talley's prada- hah. mm i'm still drooling over those jackets.

oh my. i absolutely love the rodarte collection. the knitting is just genius and i have to say the duo loves to experiment and each season keeps getting better and better. never would've expected for rodarte to become a favorite of mine, but this is the collection that made me fall in love with them. some of these dresses are unbelievable- the ones that look like a degas come alive just makes me go awe with beauty. i think the sisters have a tremedous amount of talent to be able to mix these different elements together so wonderfully into a collection- sometime i look and think how in the hell did they make this work? i can already see this becomming a top 10 for fw08, and i'm definitley looking forward to their next one.

my latest obssession is a red jacket from the junya watanabe spring08 collection (he showed it in other colors too, if you want to have a look). i first saw it in a W ediotorial, garden of eden, and have been drooling over it ever since. i've been craving red lately, i don't think i own a single piece in red.. what a shame!!, but i will stocking up on red this summer. and i'd be extremly lucky/happy, to even find anything like the watanabe jacket around here. my obssession for red pieces probably started when i saw matthew bellamy wearing a red trench coat in a smbh video and not to mention his red hair era from the bliss video. it's quite attractive.

i love how rich the red looks on suvi and i like the material (polyester&wool) used for jacket as well.

i suspect that spring and summer will be a colorful one this year, especially with the floral prints from dvn and bold striking colors from lanvin. one of my favorite color mix this season are blue and orange and a whole lot of them were seen on the runways this season. i love the ones from alberta ferreti, lanvin and dolce&gabbana- everything about that outfit is gorgeous! also love the ones from marni and as always, i'm in love with the shoes and the shades on lily donaldson as well.

i love the new dolce&gabbana ads. their spring collection is very high up on my list of favorites this season and the duo certainly picked a very very good trio to show off their wonderful clothes and lustful bags. stam looks very pretty with the dark lips, wearing a gorgeous peachy dress, alongside gemma and lily, who are also looking very pretty on the new cover of i-d. i'm in love with the shade of red used in gemma's dress.

i love the new burberry ads also, the blue trench coat looks so fab on the guy and the girls backstage, i might have to find one for myself this spring.

another thing i'm lusting after is burberry's pre-fall collection, showed off by the beautiful ms. stange. everything looks so chic and wearable, i love the hats, trench coats, the pants and the shoes!

holyyyyy shit. Lanvin's sping08 ads have already started to pop up on the pages of vogue, and i'd say it's impossible to be not impressed by this. Alber Elbaz's genius design certainly catches your eye and i am so glad that they choose this particular dress. and the way they have the dress flowing throughout the page with Olga's pale white skin and that pose! it's all just too perfect. i can hardly wait for all the editorials and covers featuring Elbaz's wonderful spring collection.

the chanel pre-fall08 collection reminded me of fall06, which i liked very much, way better than fall07 imo. you can also see irina singinig in the background, a bit of a distraction. favorites:

heidi mount looks similar to lara stone in this one, the piece on freja looks like the ysl ss08 plastic star piece and oo i miss the long hair already!

as seen on marc jacobs and chanel- bags with attached minis, like or dislike? doesn't look very nice on the chanel bag imo.

the potter gang- clémence poésy and emma watson- all grown up, looking good and barely recognizable.

now we sit back and wait for the couture shows.

is it just me or is everyone else falling in love with raquel? raquel zimmerman's been around for quite awhile, but i've never really liked her. in fact i think i disliked her until she started appearing in the fendi ads. and now she's really all over the place, especailly in these magazine editorials. cover of v magazine, a new w magazine shoot with suvi, regular at vogue.. etc. really, i had no idea she could be this good.

i'm sure many of you have already seen these photos, but they just show what amazing work coco rocha and her gaping little mouth can produce. i love the idea, the makeup and the firey hair! very inspirational and one of my favorite shoots. and rumor has it that three of my favorite models of the moment- kasia struss, stam and coco are all going to appear on the dior ad campaigns. although the collection wasn't wow, i'm pretty sure they're going to look as good as these.

feather skirts and gold frills were both spotted at Proenza Schouler and Burberry, it must mean something? if these are the trends of our upcomming summer, then i am very pleased indeed. whoever thought of making skirts out of feathers is a genius. it's such a big break from the usual denim and peasant skirts. too bad i won't be able to afford Proenza or Buberry anytime soon.

Proenza Schouler just seems to get better and better by the season. Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez brought us another brilliant, inspirational spring collection. i love the fabrics, the silhouette, the prints and the hats! what did you think of the collection- any favorite looks? i especially loved the 3/4 sleeved cardigans that were paired off with short dresses and clenched at the waist. and the double breasted golden coat on Liya is absolutely fabulous. doesn't the collection somewhat remind you of Stella McCartney and Balenciaga? i cannot wait for Paris and Milan. it's Oliver Theysken's first spring collection for Nina Ricci, i know he's going to blow us away! and i wonder what Miuccua Prada has waiting for us?

september's started and my favorite season is on its way to arrival! i hope everyone had a good summer, mine flew by very fast, but it was still good. i didn't go anywhere special, but next summer i might be going to nyc for about a month to attend one of thoes fashion summer programs. i'm planning on FIT or Parsons- anyone else planning anything like that? if so let me know! anyways, i decided to start off the fall posts with a bunch of backstage photos. hopefully they will give ideas for this season's wardrobe. i know one thing i must get this fall is a scarf, i'm loving the one on Raquel and the knit ones on Gemma and Kim are pretty gorgeous too.

i think Dior might be my new favorite ad campaign for the season. there's not too much orange and there's not too much green. it looks perfect along with the blond wig and Stam's stunning spooky eyes. i would kill for the green dress, it's absolutely stunning.

i know summer has begun and i'm not supposed to be even thinking about school, but wouldn't this Balenciaga tote be perfect? i'm madly in love with this one. the leather just looks so shiny and the shade of blue is perfect! it's $2,275, which means i cannot afford (just about like everything else i fall in love with), but the strap is detachable, so i could carry it in two ways, or at least dream of carrying it in two different ways. Coco's hair looks gorgeous by the way, gosh i wish mine looked that shiny and bouncy all the time!

now, let's talk about the Prada socks. they're nice and gorgeous and i've been wanting a pair so badly, aren't they such a nice change from all the tights? it's a bit overpriced for a pair of socks, but it's no surprise since they're Prada; $135.

and i wonder how much the hats cost? speaking of hats, i'm still drooling over the Marc Jacobs ones from the last FW collection.

i've never been a big fan of fur and i've never really been a fan of Versace either, that is until this season. first glance at the Versace fall show and all i could remember were the fur coats dyed in unnatural colors such as blue and red. a bit too much for my eyes and taste, but it was hard to avoid when i saw Lara Stone sprawled across a deserted yard, wearing nothing but some lovely shoes, nude tights and the ridiculous red Versace fur coat. suddenly fur coats dyed in extreme colors are appealing to me and a second glance at the Versace fall collection had me convinced that it was one of the best this season. though i feel that fur is one of those items that has that certain age limit to it, fur coats just aren't popular among the young. i don't plan to purchase one anytime soon, but they are looking quite good this fall.

i'm usually a person who prefers black over other colors when it comes to clothing, shoes, etc. like most of you, i fell in love with the biker-chic leather jacket that's been going around on heavy rotation lately. black seems to be the popular color, but what do we think of them in brown? i personally love it and perhaphs i should ditch the black for once and go with the brown.

i first noticed the hoodies on the runways from the Chanel spring07 show. i love how some of the designers have incorporated the hoodies into some of their looks, though i'm not sure if i would be daring enough to wear one myself. it's a trend that was around for the spring shows, but barely any were seen on the runways for the fall collections. even though it may not be one of the big trends going around right now, what do we think of this look? i love how it was worn by Hilary Rhoda at Jean Paul Gaultier, Du Juan with the long dress at Hermes and Freja with the lovely sheer nude dress at Karl Lagerfeld.

seems like structure and enhancing the shapes have been popular lately. another trend that's been newly introduced is the origami draping. best known show that has featured this trend by the mass would be Galliano for Christian Dior's magnificent spring couture show. although it may be too dramatic and hard to wear, other designers have shown this draping in their latest collections in a much more subtle way. There's just something about the details of those simple folds that makes a look sexy and complete.

i love perfectly tailored, structured clothing and when i spotted the broad shoulder look at the Balenciaga spring07 show, i was very excited that such a trend had been reintroduced. i love its silhouette and its ability to change one's look entirely. it gives a look so much more power and impact, you're bound to stand out from the rest of the crowd and there's no doubt you'll look cool, sexy and fabulous doing it. this just might be my favorite new trend.

first of all, congrats to Alber Elbaz for making the TIME 100. Natalie Portman actually wrote the article on him for TIME- "he's the ultimate fashion philosopher-mentor. he says things to me like "wear flats. you're short. it's much cooler not to pretend."- favorite part of the article, i find it a bit amusing and unexpected that one would tell a short person not to wear high heels. He also has a new fragrance comming out, which i am very excited for and i'm pretty sure it'll be as lovely as his designs!

onto the costume institute gala, my favorite looks of the night were all from jean paul gualtier couture.

i thought coco rocha looked stunning and lovable in the golden gown along with the designer himself, jean paul gaultier.

camilla belle looked every bit radiant in this look.

summer trend: fellows from facehunter has convinced me that i must work red into my summer's wardrobe. take inspiration, my personal favorite is the lady with the red jacket:

a love it or hate it item: kirsten's orange dress paired off with lovely white gladiator sandals- i'm guessing jill sander. i personally love the tailoring and shape of the dress, the waist is just perfectly shaped- i love how it curves upward and out, perfection!

sorry for not posting in a month and randomly disappearing off the blog world, i tend to do that sometimes. i've just been devoting a lot of my time to preparing for an a.p exam- u.s. history. it's a drag.

my latest designer obsession. a lot of the times i find his designs to be mystic, sexy and 'quiet', whatever that may mean. people have refered to him as just more than a fashion designer, he is a poet who brings his work of art onto the runway. his designs are not exactly the glamourous type, rarely seen on the red carpet or any other social event, you may even say that his work represents the exact opposite. one thing i love the most about him is his uniqueness that sets him so far apart from the others. i read an interview of him in visionaries and i was immediately intrigued. 'like a pendulum, real clothes and costume, yesterday and today. With my two hands, I have mixed the ridiculousness and absurdity of costume and the boringness of real clothes, like creating the salad dressing for nouvelle cuisune.' i'm not quite sure what he even means by that, but here's a segment of the interview that may be more understanding, 'where i was born,' yamamoto once told me, speaking so quietly that i had to strain to hear him, 'there were very many prostitutes. And they were wearing high heels and strong lipstick. And really, I was afraid. I was scared. Because they looked very, very wild. Very, very wild and scary. Not natural. And after I became a designer, i still have the same reaction to high heels and strong lipstick. I get very scared.' i guess that's one of the reasons why he tends to use flats and very mute makeup on the runways. enjoy the amazing photos.

i read in a magazine two summers ago that the white frames are a no-no. well suprise, suprise- they're all over the place this summer. i haven't quite made my mind about the white frames yet, they're a bit fake and cheap looking, and they stand out a bit too much for me. as ms. salaun mentions in the ny times article it's '80s in the shades, "if you're wearing white frames you want to be noticed." a sign of trying too hard? i've never considered buying white shades, i really prefer the dark framed, mysterious kind, but these below have made me think twice. especially those foldables- how cool are they?

the look above me is very simple, no? perhaps boring?

boring, simple, uncreative or whatever you may call it, i lust for the look. not just that look in particular, but the whole simple look in general. i went shopping today and i came home and now i plan on returning all the things i bought, except the calvin klein undies and a dior show mascara. for a second i thought i lost my interest in clothes. i'm in a pretty frustrating situation right now because i can't seem to find anything that i want to wear. yes, the clothes i saw at the mall today are appealing but i don't want to wear them- weird huh? anyone ever been in this kind of situation also? a simple loose fitting white top paired off with a nice pair of black skinnies (perhaps in leather) sound really appealing to me right now and i know most people are probabaly thinking- 'how boringggg'. maybe this is some kind of a "fashion block" as in like the "writer's block"

once again i'm in search for some new shoes to last me through summer. i don't buy a pair of shoes unless i fall hard for it, because if i don't, it's bound to end up in the back of the closet, which is a complete waste of money. now on to my new obsession, these were looooooove at first sight. aren't they just lovely and beyond gorgeous?! these are from marni, is it possible not to fall in love with anything marni?, selling for $624.

now, who isn't in love with these marc jacobs petal heels? these sell for $432, but remember thoes high slouch boots that sold for $1250? gosh, i want one sooo bad, but too bad they're sold out, not that i would ever be able to afford thousand dollar shoes.. i'm extremely jealous of thoes who own one.

if you fell in love with the shoes that natalia vodianova wore on the vogue march07 shoot, then consider marc by marc jacobs for $265.

checking into rehabs and starting your own fashion line seems to be popular these days among celebrities. it came to me as a suprise that marc jacobs checked himself into rehab after seven years of sobriety. but what really didn't come to me as a suprise was that the lovely sarah jessica parker finally decided to start her very own fashion line called Bitten. we all knew this one was comming. i haven't been able to get a sneak peek of anything from Bitten yet, but it is being compared to the olsen twins' own fashion line The Row, which i haven't viewed either. to be honest, i would've been more excited if the sex&thecity crew announced that they were actually going to make a sex&thecity movie, which i doubt it ever going to happen, so i guess i will have to stick with being excited for the gossip girl tv series comming soon. sjp's new fashion line- yay or nay? the name is certainly more catchy than sienna and savannah's twenty eight- something.. i don't even remember.

isn't this just a brilliant idea? i never thought of wearing a shirt dress under a skirt AND just letting the shirtdress flow out through the bottom. love it love it love it and will definitley be trying this one out soon.

another way to layer with a shirtdress is to wear it under a v-neck dress or shirt with a cute a-line skirt.

you could also wear it under a shirt with a cute square neckline, too bad that stores rarely sell sequined shirts like this above.

as seen on the runways- play it safe like chloé or be bold and go dangerously short like louis vuitton.

make things more interesting by wearing a clenching waist belt- a wide elastic one would do well.

the mix of blue/grey denim and white-almost cream-colored shirt makes a very good combination, as seen on jeremy lang

pair a white shirt off with a dark colored jacket/cardigan, and loose fitting grey shorts.

i just looked through some new chloé and am happy to announce that they have indeed, finally moved out of their "comfort zone"-aka baby doll dresses. paolo melim andersson, fresh out of my other love, marni, has become their new designer and i am loving what i am seeing so far. even though the whole collection did tend to have some marni-esque pieces, they are just soo pretty to look at and you can't help but be obsessed- and that's what chloé is all about, right?

i saw this shiny green H&M jacket from the 100 under $100 piece in Vogue and it immediately caught my eye. doesn't it just seem perfect for thoes rainy days? but, it is from H&M and it might not look as good in real life. everything just looks better in a magazine and plus the amazing jessica stam is modeling it. i am so glad that the snowing and winter is almost over, and am very exciting for spring to be beginning. i just can't wait to go shopping for thoes peep-toed flats and gladiator sandals! plus are we not all eager to just wear some nice light, loose fitting clothes- the heavy layerings of fall were just wearing me down.

also i am very excited to be joining Classy Couture, it's abosolutely fab and everyone should join- esp if you love fashion!!

giles deacon, gareth pugh, todd lynn, christopher bailey.. (do me daily) are all the designers that i have been obsessing over lately. i don't really seem to be craving the romanticism that have been getting all the rave for this spring, but i seem to be wanting the tough, sexy, rocking look. anybody with me? one glimpse of thoes giles deacon shoes in his spring collecion and i knew i would fall in love with the rest. and how could that gareth pugh possibly not stand out with his wacky, outrageous, dramatic designs? if not a fan of high-dramatics, perhaphs you should check out todd lynn and his simple, clean-cut, rock style- he designs for rockers such as mick, keith, bono and manson- sounds good? and last but not least, christopher bailey's designs for burberry prorsum always seems to be a success. his fall collection is one of my favorites so far this season- really you should check out the whole thing for yourself, it's very pleasing to the eye and will make you wish that he would be so kind to give his whole collection to you. okay this is a really hard (kind of fantasy) question, but i can't help but ask now that i've brought up the topic- if you were to choose a designer, dead or alive, to give you a wardrobe make-over who would it be?! would it be alber elbaz, mary quant, coco chanel, phoebe philo - oh the possibilities are endless, at least in my imagination.

for some reason, the idea of sailing on a summer day is very appealing to me. i don't really like the open sea, fear of sharks, drowning, etc., so i've always dreamed of going on lake michigan, which i got to sight this past summer while visintg chicago (northwestern uni)- absolutely beautiful. so now, sailing is on my things to do list before i die, has anyone gone? i used to dislike nautical/sailor clothes, thought they were too plain, but it seems like it's all i've been lusting after lately. so it'll definately be one of the trends i'll be including in my wardrobe this spring/summer.

when her name is mentioned, one thing always comes to mind: skinny. she has been accused so many times of having eating disorders and suffering from anerexia- just look at her legs! most people say that they don't like her because of how skinny she is. i personally like her as a model, and wish that she would be able to continue her career on the catwalks. but there have been numerous rumors going on that she will be close to absence on fashionweek this feb. yay or nay? what other models do you think are going to dissappear?

saw these trousers from acne jeans and at first glance, i really wanted them and thought they were the loveliest trousers. not so sure now, because they seem like one of thoes things where you try them on and they look horrific. i bet it wouldn't look so good if her knees were bent and she was pulling on that belt strap. then maybe i'm wrong. love it or hate it?

there's something i really like about this one. i wouldn't wear the boots with it though.

the color is nice, looks like it has a nice loose fit. i think it's thoes boots that makes the outfit look so good.

christian lacroix, chanel and givenchy couture 2007 shows are now up at style.com!

isn't lacroix just beyond amazing? so much detail and so many intense colors are all put in one piece, yet it doesn't look like there's "too much going on". i don't know how he does it, but i am in love with him.

as for chanel, first half of the collection was a bore for me. meanwhile, the second half was impressive, what can i say, i'm a sucker for anything that's long, flowy and in the form of a gown.

chanel, chloe;just a littlt simliarity i saw.

i thought the runway set-up for givenchy was perfect, especially since the whole collection was partly inspired by the "metamorphisis of sailors into mermaids".

spring2007 couture shows are out!! check out christian dior, valentino and elie saab! i haven't had any time to actually look at these, but things are looking pretty good. john galliano produces another set of outstanding, fabulous, totally inspirational and unique designs that you can't take your eyes off. valentino's collection was very classic valentino and every piece, so soft, elegant and dreamy, are bound to make your mouth water. as for elie saab, flowing gowns in metallic shades and the sofest shades of blue, black and pink- thank god there were no more gold!

i'm one of thoes people that enjoy looking through old magazines. or maybe i'm the only one, idk. but spring/summer is approaching and so i was looking through the june/july issue of teenvogue- from two thousand and freakin five. i was fresh out of eight grade then, and had little knowledge of fashion. anyways, that's not even the point. this issue has photoshoots that are just alluring and makes me wish so badly that is was summer. especially now since we have to study all thoes piles of notes and books because of a thing called midterms. what i want more than anything right now is to be in a beautiful bathing suit, lying down in the white warm sand by the beach, sipping on some delish tropical fruit drink. yeah, sounds good to me. i am dreading next week. uggh!

so my mom bought these shoes from a garage sale a long time ago (last summer). she was about to throw them away, because they didn't fit her, so i said i would take them. the shoes were kept in the box in my room, untill i decided to use them for this art project. i looked at them one day and decided they weren't that bad looking at all. it's got a very classy, maybe even old-lady feel too it, but i like them. i usually keep my shoewear on a flat level, so i was very self-councious about wearing them. yes, they are only 2inches tall, but still.. they felt a bit too dressy for school. don't get me wrong, i LOVE LOVE high heels, but considering the fact that i am only a sophmore in highschool, i feel a bit weird wearing them for casual wear. does anyone else feel the same way or is it just weird me?

anyways, these shoes were only fifty cents! it's from "a dip in the pool collection", made in japan. i've absolutely no knowledge about this brand, but the shoes are very cute and in good condition! i've only worn them once to a bookstore with these dark blue bootcut jeans, but then i never wore them again. any opinions on the shoes?

brown, gray, black, and many other colors of dark have obviously been the biggest trends this season. makeup-wise, brown matte eyeshadows have been stomping all over the runways. with all things being dark this season, i personally think the brown matte eyeshadows can get a tad bit boring sometimes. so, to play up the dark outfits of fall, i think the chanel beauty look below is just perfect. the shimmering aqua painted on the inner lids and the dark eyeshodow on the outter rims, gives the face a very refreshing, bold and fun look.

i recently purchased the Extracils Chanel Mascara ($24), which is a super curl lengthening mascara. i was kind of dissapointed with it at first, because it didn't really give me the long/false eyelash look i was looking for. the first few times i tried it on, i have to say it was very bad, because my eyelashes would sink down and uncurl itself after about a minute. but, for some reason the mascara continued to get better, and after about 3 days of trying this on, desperately hoping that it would give me a look that was well worth what i had paid for, i was absolutely satisfied with the mascara's work on my eyelashes. the mascara really defines, lengthens and holds the curls. no clumps and it leaves no marks. there's probably other mascaras out there that's about half the price and will get the job done, but if wearing chanel on your eyes makes you more happy, then definately go for it. but, if your looking for the voluminous/doll-like look, i probably wouldn't buy this.

i just really had to post this cover of Numero Nov06, because Gemma looks absolutely stunning. although this looks like a cover of a july issue more than a november, the combination of blue eyeshadow, pink lips and the beach blond hair is just so perfectly done.

on the other hand, the valentino fw06 ads makes her look really bad in my opinion. i know there are a ton of other ads that are worse than this one, like the bottega veneta ones with iguna (yawwnnn), but for some reason, this ad really disappoints me.

the moment i saw them, i was absolutely in love. i know it's a bit nerdy looking with its big sqaure lenses and even though it'd probably never look good on me, i still love it anyways. i don't know what it is about it.. possibly the fact that the stunning sasha is wearing them? lately i've been scavanging for the perfect&fashionable pair of glasses (due to the ocassional irritation from my stupid contacts) and i've come down to the decision that i might be purchasing the versace ones, modeled by daria and kate in the fall ads, or something very similar to it. the only letdown of this style is that everyone's wearing them. i mean, how cool would you look walking down the streets in thoes prada glasses?

i was aboslutely stunned by her amazing feautures when i first saw her on the July W issue, posing for the looks of fall. how could anyone not be? she has the sharpest cheekbones i have ever seen in my life! she's a necomer from Holland, and hasn't been around the world of fashion for long, but she's already been named beauty icon on style.com, which is "a monthly look at the faces that have made history." yes, she has already made history. & yes, she's that good. can you believe that she was sporting red dredlocks when she was discovered? gosh, i can't even imagine. this girl has definately got some character.
