fur.

i've never been a big fan of fur and i've never really been a fan of Versace either, that is until this season. first glance at the Versace fall show and all i could remember were the fur coats dyed in unnatural colors such as blue and red. lara stone a bit too much for my eyes and taste, but it was hard to avoid when i saw Lara Stone sprawled across a deserted yard, wearing nothing but some lovely shoes, nude tights and the ridiculous red Versace fur coat. mcneil suddenly fur coats dyed in extreme colors are appealing to me and a second glance at the Versace fall collection had me convinced that it was one of the best this season. though i feel that fur is one of those items that has that certain age limit to it, fur coats just aren't popular among the young. gucci k moss i don't plan to purchase one anytime soon, but they are looking quite good this fall.

fur
(from top left clockwise: Vera Wang, Luca Luca, Prada, Versace, Lanvin, Dior, Emanuel Ungaro, Louis Vuitton, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Lacriox, Dior.)
wouldn't you love to try on the Jean Paul Gaultier one?
p.s- a very very late response, but Gen- i don't know any good places to buy leather jackets. i haven't gone on the hunt for one yet, so i will post some places if i find some. maybe some of the readers could leave recommendations.

fur coats always look so beautiful, in theory I love them in pictures...in reality, even a fake fur makes me look like a little fuzz ball muppet.

i love the look of fur coats so much, but after I had to research what animals were put through to make the coats, I don't think I could ever buy one without feeling horrible.

blogger,

thank you and it's great to see that you still visit my blog! i can't believe it's only been a year since my first post and thanks so much for being that one comment from the beginning, it means alot to me. i suprisingly like the Vuitton coat as well, never thought that orange fur would look attractive, but looks good on Vlada!

I bought a fabulous faux leather jacket at Target at the beginning of last year....don't know if that helps. I'm not really a big fan of fur, I agree its not popular for the young and I wish ppl would only wear fake fur

i'm so not a fan of fur. the jackets are beautiful indeed, but something about a woman in fur really pisses me off... i don't know if i'll get over it.

Fur cuffs are extremely unattractive I find. Generally, this look doesn't go well with me. Of course I'm no PETA freak. I do think a long mink coat is something though.

I'm not a fan of fur coats either but that yellow dior one is pretty out there

I like the Luca Luca fur coat, it's not puffy like the rest.

i'm not a big fan of the non-natural coloured fur coats. they look more like fakes than anything.

I like the idea, I'm just really against real fur. I've got an old pink (not really pink-pink, more old beuatiful color pink) fake fur coat somewhere.. and coming to think of it, my mum's got a darkblue one somewhere. A trip to the attic might not be a bad idea..

I lovve this post, and I must say, my favourite fur jacket is the bright yellow Dior one; It reminds me of those little fuzzy chicks that are around in Easter.

I haven't managed to get a proper look at a lot of the winter collections, so this post really gave me more of an idea of some of the looks.

OOH, and that Lara Stone. I love this picture of her, though I havent seen it before. Is it an ad, or an editorial, or what?

Whoaa long,

S xx

PS, I got my leather jacket from h and m a couple of months ago, very cheap n cheerful and I get lots of compliments about it.

yeah...not a big fan of fur either... just when Miuccia says fur is out-- everyone wants to double their dosage!

personally, I just think the fur industry is so inhumane right now that there's no way they could make fur look good. In my opinion, if people want fur, they could do with some Marc Bouwer and Rebecca Taylor faux.

Beautiful pictures. Fur looks so decadent and and opulent and just so glamourous. Too bad animals have to be tortured for this

Fur looks rich and luxurious when done right. I mean Lara Stone may look good in a red fur coat, but I can't imagine anyone else in the world that would. And yeah, those PETA people with the pictures of slaughtered rabbits in front of Saks actualy makes me sad about fur.

I think I couldn't pull it off to wear a fur coat since I'm really petite. But there were many great fur coats on the fall runways. I really like the blue one from Versace. Great post btw.
